Make this better than a Good Friday...its a Great Friday!

Today is Good Friday! Everything you touch today should be and will be good. If in doubt…be creative and make it good.

The Top Three Good Things that began the day:

Sami the Chinese Crested blasted me with puppy hugs at 5:20 this morning.
Traffic was extremely light...didn’t have to worry about out of control truckers.
My special mix of coffee and chocolate was brilliantly the right temperature.
A couple of incredible friends recently took twenty two steps back from their careers—one has kept it extremely positive by surrounding herself with spiritual friends and family while the other openly admits that he’s a work-a-holic and is having to push his willingness to grow over a 300,000 foot mountain of withdrawals.

Thirty one years in this business and I’ve learned being a work-a-holic is nothing more than a fear of failure. You bust your tail until there isn’t one then pick up the dust with a fist full of water and paste it back together so you’re allowed to continue.

Being a work-a-holic is a well masked desire to be accepted—hard work with very little pay showcases the need to feel wanted. It’s extremely human to feel like you belong.

The reason why so many today are enjoying their open fields of freedom from having to work for the man is because of a tiny muscle in your heart that softly whispers, “I’m being me.” Sadly, the power company and your favorite band currently on tour doesn’t accept that as a way for them to earn money…so you’re forced to hoof your junk back into the trunk and get on with your everyday.

Movie companies are the only business in the world that continuously deliver bad products without consumers looking for a different outlet. Directors, producers and actors know how important of a high they are to American culture and feel no need to improve the stages to which they build.

This is where my Mother’s voice enters my head, “Now son…every business is run this way. Quality today is yesterdays fifth and sixth best. We’ve become accustom to listening to excusing for bad behavior and allow the lack of great production to be acceptable.”

I believe it begins with the way we speak!

Nobody truly supports the efforts of a coworker or family member. Ronald Reagan was extremely correct when he delivered his Me Generation speech. It is all about me and if you’re efforts and plans don’t mix with mine I’ll find someone who does. Constructive criticism is a weapon of mass destruction because those using it have no clue how to rebuild the buildings they just destroyed.
Ask someone how their day is. “Oh it’s good.” Good? Good can be great with a twist of the screwdriver. It can stink like a pigeon coup and I’m still having a great day. I learned this trick from Andrew Ashwood who made sure every employee connected to his name was having a phenomenal day. “Our business isn’t making a dime but that’s ok because we’re having a phenomenal day because we’re going to learn as a team how to find customers then we’re going to share our phenomenal day with them.” Nobody thinks like anymore, “Here’s your burger and fries go be good.”
Without visionaries America wouldn’t have been born. In an age of creative technical devices that make people faster in delivery we’ve become horribly lazy in trusting the mindset of those who make up our circle. Lacking trust in the visions to which we all were born with develops a plateau of fear, doubt and failure. As much as my soul burns knowing what General George Custer did to hundreds of families living peacefully in Montana…without a vision those involved on his side of the fence wouldn’t reached their particular perch of victory.
My financial advisor is horribly bothered by my presence. The banking system has fallen in love with the idea of America becoming old and scared—therefore they’ve developed a living plan that guarantees you won’t be eating cheap dog food at 79. Maybe 22% of us learned something from the most recent financial crash—those protecting your money aren’t armed guards—they’re rent a cops with highly paid for written statements created to bring inner peace to those who feel fear. We are the test dummies in a crash test called recovery.

So…how does this play out in a world where today is Good Friday? He is a visionary. He’s my scout, my medicine man, my weather guy who has been gifted with classy equipment that locates an echo before it leaves someone’s mouth. My fear of failure cannot come in contact with his dedication to preserve. To practice what I preach I consistently remind myself of the gold rule: If you have an object and you let someone borrow it…you have every right to be angry when they break it. If you relinquish the object…you no longer have creative control of the final product. You have the right to lend your ideas and offer a few crazy words but you relinquished the product knowing that you very well could be broke by Monday.

Good Friday is every reason why you should have a Great Friday. Rather than sink your ship sulking through tough times and lack of dimes—the greatest gift you are given everyday is air to breathe. Be in love with the idea that you’re alive and get back up on the horse that knocked your rump to the dirt. The only way to win a war is to support every piece on the Chess board even when you’ve lost the queen.

Top Three Negative Things I face today that will be turned into a positive:

Holiday weekend, everybody wants out of their jobs as quick as they can say their name...I will be the first to smile.
All these beautiful flowers are making my allergies freak out—I just got over an eight week sinus infection battle. Do I lock myself away from the world or learn better ways to clean out the sinus system such as using a Nedi Pot?
My sisters son is getting married in July and I’ve yet to tell her if I’ll be going…my father had several families…after forty seven years we’ve all found each other…it would be the first time that my fathers children will be together. Today I need to tell them that being a work a holic won’t keep me from making this moment happen.
Happy incredible Friday! Happy far out cool Friday! I fully grasp what this day truly represents but not everybody looks through those glasses so why not make it a brilliant day for everybody who woke up this morning!

Are you sick of my positive energy? Get over it…
